Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about how Farq gathers prices from 340+ online stores in Pakistan, keeps them fresh and helps you pay the lowest price for the product you want.

Product comparison

How do you compare so many products?

Farq runs a matching engine that reads product listings from hundreds of stores and groups the ones that describe the same item together. It looks at titles, brands, model numbers, specifications and identifiers, then folds those scattered listings into a single product page. That is how millions of individual offers turn into one clean comparison you can actually read.

How do you compare prices?

We only show verified prices that we have read directly from the store, and we sort offers by the lowest item price so the cheapest one is always at the top. The ranking is based on the price of the product itself, not delivery charges, so you can see the true item cost at a glance. Listings that look broken, expired or fake, what we call ghost listings, are filtered out before they ever reach you.

How do you cover so many retailers?

Farq works with both partner stores that send us their catalogues and non-partner stores that we collect from independently. The same matching engine handles both, so a small specialist shop sits next to a national giant on the same product page. We also run manual checks on tricky categories to make sure the right offers are landing on the right products.

Pricing and updates

How often do prices refresh?

We refresh prices at least once a day, and for fast-moving and popular products we update several times a day. Stores change their prices constantly, so frequent refreshing is the only way to keep a comparison honest. When a price drops, that change flows through to the product page and to any price-drop alerts you have set.

How fresh is the database?

Every offer carries a timestamp from the last time we read it, so you are always looking at recent data rather than a stale snapshot. Popular products are checked more often than quiet ones, which keeps the busiest pages the most up to date. If a store stops responding or a listing disappears, we stop showing that offer instead of leaving an old price on the page.

Our service

Do you sell products?

No, Farq does not sell anything and we never handle payments or shipping. We are an information hub that gathers prices into one place so you can decide where to buy. When you find an offer you like, you click through and the actual sale happens on the retailer's own website, on their terms.

Technical

How do you avoid ghost or stale listings?

Before an offer is shown we check that the listing still exists, is in stock and has a real, current price attached to it. Anything that fails those checks, a dead link, an out-of-stock page or a price that looks placeholder, is dropped automatically. Re-checking offers on a regular schedule means a price that vanishes from a store quickly vanishes from our pages too.

How do you handle variants like colour, size or warranty?

Variants such as colour, storage size, bundle or warranty are kept separate because they are genuinely different things to buy. Each variant gets its own listing with its own price, so a 128GB phone is never confused with its 256GB sibling. That way the price you compare matches the exact item you intend to order.

How does the comparison engine work?

The engine combines partner feeds with our own in-house data collection, then uses automation to match listings, normalise prices and group them by product. On top of that automation we layer manual verification for hard cases and continuous quality checks to catch anything that slipped through. User feedback closes the loop, when shoppers flag a mismatch or a wrong price, we use it to make the matching smarter over time.

Getting the best deal

How do I find the best deal?

Start with the filters to narrow down to the exact variant and features you want, then compare the shipping cost on top of the item price rather than the item price alone. It is also worth checking store ratings before you buy, since the cheapest seller is not always the most reliable one. Setting a price-drop alert lets us watch the price for you and tell you the moment it falls.
